It is Monday - again. Am I a broken record with that question? I could just report evey Monday post and it would say the same thing: "Weekend went by too quickly. Is it Monday already? Blah, blah, blah."
The weekend did go by too quickly and .... is it really Monday already?
Thursday I took Big J sledding after our 9 inches of snow ... he had an absolute blast (yes, I had to cut out early and play hookie from work for that one). He loved it. It was fun to get out there and giggle with him.
Went to pizza Friday night, Italian Saturday night (sorry ... I work fulltime and cook all week? Fridays and Saturdays are my nights off).
We took the boys to the library on Sunday ... it was cold out and this was free! They have 17 new books to choose from for the next few weks. It was fun to watch Big J realize that whatever he picked out, I said, "Sure!" to his question of taking it home.
Other than that ... I feel like all I did was LAUNDRY all freaking wekeend. I swear ... how do large families do it? I switched loads and folded all weekend long. I seriously think the washer was on more than our lights were on!!!!
Oh well, now on to working ... and getting ready for my sister to visit on Friday! Woo Hoo!!!!

Another weekend come and gone

Weekend recap
Another weekend flew by and to be quite honest, I hardly remember it; we try to squeeze so much into a 2-day period that it just goes by quicker than a person can blink!
Friday night was carry out night. It was cool and rainy and quite frankly, depressing out. We ordered some Go Roma and Big J, E and I sat down to watch Sand Lot (Big J has been bored by "kiddie" movies, so PG movies here we come .... God help me). He loved it.
Saturday morning was "Mommy and boys" morning. We got ready and went to Starbucks over by the train station. Big J tried the sample pumpkin latte and flipped out because it was so good ... I am doomed. We watched the trains and ate our muffins and then walked over to the Farmer's Market. Big J picked out some veggies for the soup I would be making and one of each type of apple that he saw. :) We headed over to the Party Store to start looking for costume ideas: Big J is going to be a cowboy. Little j? Well, he detests hats and hoods so we are trying to come up with an idea that can do without those. Then it was off to Home Depot to pick up some mums to replace the sad looking impatiens on the front porch.
Saturday afternoon I went to a friend's house for a Tastefully Simple party. I ordered just a few things and it was nice to be on my own for a couple hours (until I came home and saw the house in MASSIVE upheaval ... is it that hard to clean up after 2 children for two freaking hours? I do it, why can Dad not do it?!?!?!??). We went to Durty Nellie's (one of my faves) for dinner and the start of the ND game (since my Alma mater cannot seem to win a stinkin football game to save their lives, I will hope that ND can pull out a few wins this season). A bowl of chili and beer started the evening off pretty nicely. Another trip to Home Depot on the way home (only to see Big J run around in the garden center and trip on the gravel and bust up his elbow ... poor little dude!) and then home to the couch to see the end of ND beating Purdue!
Sunday we went to Mass and then to Einsteins to grab some pumpkin bagels and Autumn roast coffee and then we went to my Uncle's house to watch the Bears game and eat some food. The boys behaved pretty well, Big J always enjoys hanging out with his great uncle ... it is his surrogate Grandpa S when we cannot be in Florida!!!!!!
Where did the weekend go????????
So, it is back to the usual crap I deal with Monday through Friday. Listening to bosses whine too much, clients bitch too much and wishing I was inherently wealthy. I am hoping that my week can go by pretty quickly (although, with 2 days - in a row - in this office, it could make for a slow go. At least I am finally getting my hair cut and colored on Thursday. I am embarrassed to go out looking like this any longer!!!!
My goal of the week? Pick out a web hosting company and start building the website. That isn't too lofty of an idea is it?
(Oh yea .... About the Sand Lot movie. So, we reminded Big J about the language used by some of the kids that he watched. He said that he understood. So, on Saturday he was on the phone telling my Dad about the movie and this is what I hear: "so, Grandpa, then the little boy takes the ball and runs away from the dog and yells 'oh SHIT!'" Both my Dad and I stopped, tried to quell our laughter and tell Big J that he shouldn't repeat those words. For the next hour he kept saying, 'Please don't tell Dad that I said a bad word ... I didn't mean too!'")

Update
Weighed myself again this past Saturday ... another 5 pounds down! That is a total of 9 pounds in 2 weeks. If I could keep this pace up for the last two that I am on the pill, it would bring me to a doable weight to continue on.
I see the pounds coming off the scale, but I do not see a difference in any of my clothes yet ... I am wondering: am I losing inches off my hair? Fingers? Toes? I would love to start seeing the bra changing shape. The waist on my pants get loose .... those are really what I need to see to feel like I am on my way.
This past weekend was nice ... crazy busy, but nice. Friday's weather was AWESOME, so E and I cut out early, ran a few errands and then picked the boys up from school. We went to Durty Nellie's and sat out on the patio. We played in the backyard for a while before the kids went to bed.
Saturday we worked in the yard - in between rain drops. It was EXHAUSTING! We got a babysitter and actually went to dinner ALONE! We went to Pete Millers - one of my faves - and sat in the bar and watched the Hawks game. It was nice ... real nice. I can see that E has been trying to change himself ... which helps me have a different attitude towards him as well. I had a really good time.
Sunday was another day of yard work (and rain) and errands. After Mass we ran to breakfast and saw one of big J's friends. They invited us to a bday party at Chuck E Cheese that evening. Big J had an absolute blast ... (and was pretty peeved when we had to go). It was totally cool to see him interact with a friend. He is like a little person. When people wanted to take their picture Big J would wrap his arm around his friend's back. It made me smile.
So, onto another work week. Gonna try and go to Spin again and continue on the weight loss path. Still wishing I could find a gig to work at home .... anyone know of anything legal? ;)

Saturday, Saturday ...........
I love the weekend. I love the fact that I don't have to worry about voice mail or email or the gay-boss. But, there is something that just honestly sucks about weekends.
Nothing to do. With E not home, and the weather - not so much fun, and 2 children .... well, weekends have just become days that I don't work. I feel bad. I feel like the kids are bored. I am bored. And there is only so many times I can torture my friends with our company at lunch or dinner.
Hurry home E.
Better yet ... hurry home warm weather!
But, don't get me wrong, thank GOD for the weekend despite it all!!!!!!

Time flies when you are having ... fun?
Where, oh where, has my time gone? In the blink of an eye a week goes by (yet, there are days that seem to DRAG ON FOREVER!)
Thanksgiving came and went ... E came home. It was a whirlwind weekend. I was cooking and preparing all day Thursday - his parents and sister came for dinner. We had an enjoyable time ... MUCH better than visits in the past. I must say that one of teh thinsg this deployment gave us was a new relationship with his family. They still have their quirks (whio doesn't???), but at least time with them can be enjoyable.
Friday evening we had our 20 year grade school reunion. I had a BLAST! It was so less nerve-wracking than a high school reunion. I had grown up with these people, so it seemed like a family reunion, rather than a competition. It was so cool to catch up with some people that I literally have not seen in over 20 years! I felt like I had been talking to them every day since, though! I wish we could have another! I got tipsy ... no .... DRUNK. E drove home while I slept (passed out). Thankfully I was just a bit slow the next day; not hungover like I have been in the past (E would have shot me!).
We took Big J and little j to breakfast with Santa on Saturday - little j fell completely asleep before the fat man came ... funny pic that I will have to post later!
Sunday came way too quickly. Its weird - I "envision" the visit with E for days before he gets there, yet it never turns out to be quite what I pictured. I think part of it is taht we both have defenses up - we alreayd wait for his departure the moment he arrives. Sucks - but that is life.
So ... now we wait for time to creep until vacation on teh 18th (and then we will FLY into the new year!) ........

Monday, Monday ...
The weekend is done already? Geesh ... another Monday is here. WooHoo! (Can you hear the elation in my voice?!?!!?)
The weekend was nice ... trying to curb my irritation with being Mommy sometimes. No Daddy + PMS + 5 month old + almost-3 year old = AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!
We took Big J for his 3 year pics on Saturday ... what a handsome little dude he is becomming (I will scan pics in tonight and post) ... all signs of my baby are pretty much gone. :(
This week is going to be crazy .... working and waiting for my parents to HOPEFULLY make it into town on Thyrsday (Hurricane Fay could put a damper on that one). Big J's birthday is on Friday and his party - the Cubs party he has been talking about for weeks is Saturday. I have grocery shopping to get to ASAP for his tacos (his request) .... I am excited for him.
Lttle j's Baptism is on Sunday - it is going to be a SMALL, understated ceremony ... since Daddy cannot make it, and his Godmother cannot make it .... Afterwards my Mom and Dad take Big J back with them for 2 weeks. While I know I am looking forward to a bit of a break from my little blue-eyed bug, I am going to miss my buddy terribly.

Monday... Monday....
So ... the weekend flew by like a bat out of hell. Why is that anyway??? We spend Five stinkin days working, busting our butts, with most of those days seeming to take FOREVER to get by ... yet, we have only two days to recoup and recover and they ALWAYS ALWAYS fly by??????
Anyway ... Friday night I took the boys to Max and Erma's for an early dinner. Big J enjoyed his ice cream sundae with blue, yes blue, whipped cream (he had a LOVELY ring around his mouth for hours!). After I put the boys to bed I did the Jillian DVD "30 Day Shred." Holy CRAP it KICKED MY ASS! It was only 20 minutes but it felt like I had been working out for at least an hour ... I think I will be using this workout a Lot!
Saturday morning we putzed around the house, made LOVELY by the fact that little j slept through the night, until it was time to meet a friend for lunch. Right before we ate little j promptly puked all over himself. I thought maybe it was because I had given him the bottle that I left out for his nighttime feeding (I know - bad Mom).
That afternoon we went to a lake and let the kids swim and dig in the sand. Big J was in hog heaven. Right before we were leaving, little j's diaper held an EXPLOSION .... that is what started the poopfest.
Have you ever been invited? If not ... feel free to come by ... lots of great smells and entertainment from the faces Mommy makes as she tries to clean up the pajamas, butt cheeks, mattress, and anything else that came into contact with the festival!!!!
The rest of the weekend (outside of the pooping) was relaxing ... we spent time at the park, had dinner at a friend's house and watched the Cubs.
Little j is 4 months old today (my how time flies) and my parents get into town on Thursday (maybe the will help this week FLY by!!!)
