Starting to wonder if the world has started spinning faster than usual. I have consistently been feeling like my day has been shortened by an hour, at minimum.
Really .... what is going on? I used to be able to call a friend, respond to email, update a blog ... but lately, I am out of control. I am forgetful. I am forever adding things to my to-do list but never subtracting any!
I will be in the, driving the car, kneeling at church and suddenly remembering something I completely forgot to do.
I feel like I neglect my friends, my family, my job .... me.
Anyone else feel this way????

Life - 24/7
Been way too long since I wrote anything.
My problem? Every time I sit down to write, something pops up: leaks in the basement (which found their way into our electrical box), yard work (can I just say that trying to remove 15 years worth of mulch lends to many stuffed outdoor bags, and a very sore back the next morning?), children not sleeping (playing Supernanny for one week can wear any sane person down) ....
You name it, I am doing it, have done it or will be doing it within the next 24 hours!
Life happens. Life has been happening.
I am hoping it will continue to happen .... but maybe at a more peaceful pace???
:)
I love my kids .... I love my house (but, have you ever seen the movie Money Pit? That is our home, seriously!) .... my job has even gotten a bit better.
Life is happening ... and it aint that bad.

Please keep your hands inside the ride ...
My life is a roller coaster. This statement, I know, is nothing that should surprise me, or anyone else for that matter. I have highs and lows, good days and bad. Some days I want to get off quicker than imaginable; and some days, I hope the ride slows to a halt so that I can enjoy it just a bit longer.
Having my baby sister in town this past weekend was awesome, yet, at the same time, it sucked.
Why was it awesome? We chat, eat, shop, laugh til we pee .... we play Wii Fit until 2:00 am. She loves my boys and wants them to grow up right. She gives me a break. She understands why I have cut "friends" out of my life, why I hate my job and why I talk like I have ingested 6 or 7 espressos.
Why did it suck? My husband cannot seem to grasp how to be a social creature, especially with family. My sister likes to voice her opinions, no matter what the repercussions. My sister and my husband fight like cats and dogs. My sister and my husband make me cry (note: apologies always come later and the fights always get resolved). My sister had to go home.
So, I am getting back on my aforementioned roller coaster of a life .... it is a Tuesday in the office, and quite frankly, we could zoom ahead on this ride any time.

Are we "back to normal" yet?
So, I haven't really "blogged" on a while ... life, as I know it, as been in complete chaos.
E returned on March 18. My parents got here on March 19. Little j's party was on March 21. The squabbling between my husband and my Mom ensued on March 22. My parents left on March 23. I went back to work on March 24 and I haven't blinked since.
The boys are nuts since E came home. Sleeping schedules are off. Manners are gone. Quiet nights and routines? Out the window.
And E? Shoot ... he still lives in his own world, with a bit of us thrown in. Its like living with a 3rd child, seriously, it is!
Everything that we put off for the 14 months that he was gone, suddenly has to be done. NOW. Handy men, HVAC men, furniture stores. I haven't been able to catch a breath, but our calendar is booked and the checkbook is getting thin.
I thought I would be calmer once he returned. I thought I might be able to "get stuff done" when he returned. Life is still the same for me ... with more added on the plate.
WTF?

Sadness sweeps the land

Bummer .... so the heartbreak continues. What makes me most sad? Not that the Cubs completely BLEW it (although, it is hard to stomach), but that the fun that we could have had while watching them is over. I think that is what bothers most peiople. You plan on going to games, or having parties.
Celebrating ... it is like holidays that are not marked on the calendar. When your 3 year old son asks you, "Mommy, are we having another Cubs party?" You know you have him indoctrinated. THAT is the part that I am going to miss .... the party.
Now, evenings are back to "normal" .... bed time routines are back on track. Dinners are no longer nachos or pizza, but salads and soups. Evening attire is now pj's and lounge pants instead of jerseys and hats. Beer will be reserved for football Sundays. No more scrambling to find a babysitter so that I can see a game, instead I will find a babysitter so I can work. :(
How depressing.
maybe it is a good thing that "party" fare is off the menu. I went shopping for pants these past few weeeks - dude, I am fat. No other word to describe what I look like ... I am just fat.
I STILL haven't had an uninterrupted night sleep since March, so my energy levels to actually EXERCISE are slim to none. At night, I am too busy getting chores taken care of to actually DO a routine. In the morning, I am too tired to THINK about a routine.
But something is going to have to give. I had to try on a SIXTEEN the other day ... 16! ONE SIX ....... that is duisgusting ... especially when I have 8's hanging in my closet from last year. I am so unhappy with myself .... I just wish I had time to FIX it ....
Ugh ... what shall I look forward to so I can get through the days? hhhmmmmm ..... trip to Tampa in December ... 2 Heavenly weeks of having time .... aaahhhh.

Too busy for words .....
Life is CRAZY busy .... CRAZY. The boys are insane! Work is INSANE (can anyone tell me why I work with the stock market???)! My schedule has been INSANE .....
I hope next week will slow down .... but for now ... I am going to pay some bills, download some pictures and get ready to go see my beloved Cubbies play ball tomorrow!!!!!

Life is Short
Saw this printed in the Chicago Tribune a while back ... It holds so many truths.
Life's Short.
Make that Call
Life's Short.
Write that letter.
Life's Short
You'll live longer if you fix that thing that's driving you nuts.
Life's Short.
Too short for bad wine, bad coffee and uncomfortable underwear. But there's always room for "American Idol."
Life's Short.
Embarrassing e-mails live forever.
Are you Sure you should hit send?
Life's short.
Don't waste another day with a hangover.
Life's Short.
Spend less time looking in the mirror and more time looking at the sky.
Life's short.
When was the last time you watched the stars?
Life's short.
Get TiVo.
Life's short.
Too short to figure out TiVo. Just get rid of the TV.
Life's short.
Get over it.
Get over the grudge.
Get over the sorrow.
Get over the fear.
Get over the memory.
Get over the disbelief that on the cosmic clock your life lasts barely longer than a cough.
Life's short.
Be ready to die.
Life's short.
Stop making excuses.
Life is short but there is still time for breakfast.
Life's short
But never too short to help a friend.
Life's short.
Good weather is shorter.
Go outside.
Life's short.
But there is no need to rush.
Life's short.
Lengthen. Your. Breath.
Life's short.
Do you really want to watch that rerun of a rerun of that sitcom rerun?
Life's short.
Show your necks and knees while you're young.
Life's short.
How much of yours will you waste at your computer?
Life, however long, will always be short. Too short for anything to be added.
